Speeding up your claim.
We want to do all we can to help minimise the inconvenience and time to put things right. In many cases, Davies Group can offer the option to support your claim using the latest in video technology, supported using a mobile phone or tablet app that will allow you to share with them via live video, details of your claim. This might sound a bit complicated, but do not worry, our claims team will help you step by step in completing this activity and will assist in ensuring timely progress of your claim.
Am I covered?
You must comply with certain conditions to ensure you have the full protection of your insurance policy. For example, there are certain things that are not covered, such as general wear and tear or damage caused by poor maintenance to your home. Do I have to complete a form?
No, you just need to contact the claims team at Davies Group and they will go through the details with you over the phone and they will also advise you on the next steps.
Will I have an excess?
Yes, most insurance policies require you to pay an excess and this excess depends on the type of claim you are making. The excess details are included in your insurance schedule with your policy documents. Don’t worry if you are not able to locate it, just drop us a call and we will be able to provide you with the exact details.
Will I need to obtain an estimate?
With most claims, you will be required to obtain an estimate for the replacement or repairs of items. If your claim is for damage to your home, then we would be happy to recommend a specialist repairer to provide you with the service you require. This is not mandatory, so if you would like to use your own trades person or repairer, we would require you to submit estimates for any work prior to your claim being authorised and work commencing.
Will the insurer want to send someone out?
Sometimes it may be necessary to appoint a loss adjuster to visit you at your home, to inspect any damaged items or damage to your home. We can however speed up your claim by using video technology, which can be done from your mobile or tablet, providing us with a visual of the damage.
What is a loss adjuster?
A loss adjuster is an independent claims specialists appointed by the insurance company. If a loss adjuster is appointed, any communication regarding the claim must go through them. You are however free to contact us at any time, if you would like to discuss your claim, or if you have any queries.
