How much contents cover will I get on my holiday home?
Everybody’s contents requirement is different therefore our advisors can talk you through what you may want to include and help you pick the figure that’s right for you, however our minimum sum insured is £10,000.
How do I calculate the rebuild costs for buildings sum insured?
Buildings Sum Insured (Rebuild Costs)
Please enter the rebuild cost of your property. This must include the cost of debris removal, architects, surveyors, consultants, legal fees, taxation and the additional cost of complying with any government or local authority requirements. (The is not the figure that is provided by some insurers which is £500,000 or £1million, these are blanket sums insureds and is the maximum level that insurer will pay in the event of a total loss, and it also is not the market value of your property).

What is the single article limit for my contents?
It’s sometimes hard to keep track of the replacement value of your contents, that’s why at My Holiday Home Insurance we don’t have a Single Article Limit for your general contents*. That way you can have peace of mind that should something happen, your possessions would be covered.

What are the excess amounts on holiday home insurance?
We have a £100 excess on our policy for all standard claims, however voluntary excesses are available as well which allow you to individually tailor your policy and possibly benefit from a lower premium.
How much public liability am I covered for?
Our public liability is covered up to £5Million as standard.
Is accidental damage covered under my holiday home insurance policy?
Accidental damage is one of the most common claim types, so for your peace of mind, we offer accidental damage as an optional extra when the property is occupied by you.
If I lose my keys, am I covered?
It happens to the best of us, so should you find yourself in the position that you have lost your keys, you can rest easy knowing that we cover your replacement locks and keys.
I have a hot tub, can this be covered within my policy?
Hot tubs are becoming more common, and as such we have the facility to make sure they are covered under your insurance. Give one of our advisors a call who will take some details and get you covered.
Will the insurance cover my swimming pool?
If you are lucky enough to have a swimming pool, we can include it within your policy. That way you rest easy knowing your fully covered.
What if I rent my holiday home?

What happens if I leave my home unoccupied for more than 60 days?

Yes, you can pay by card. We do not charge you extra to use your cards to pay for your holiday home insurance policy and we accept most major credit and debit cards.
Can I pay by cheque for my holiday home insurance?
Yes, you can. Many of our clients still prefer to pay by cheque. Please simply complete your cheque for the correct amount, making it payable to My Holiday Home Insurance. Please write your My Holiday Home Insurance client reference number on the back of the cheque (which can be found on the documentation we sent to you) and post it to:
